Solarwatt, based in Dresden, Germany, has launched the new Solarwatt Easy-In roof system, which has been specifically designed for pitched roofs. By replacing conventional roofing tiles, the Easy-In provides a more aesthetical PV solution as well as generating free renewable energy.

Solarwatt’s Easy-In system enables fast and easy mounting as no additional installation system is necessary when mounting the modules to the wooden skid. The module frame that simultaneously functions as the installation system connects directly to wooden structure with suction anchors screwed into the roof battens. This process saves material, installation time and money. Due to the minimal amount of material and tools required, installation time can be cut in half.

The Easy-In system also fulfils all technical standards for fire-prevention, rain-proofing as well as the impacts of wind, snow loads and hail. The system was developed in cooperation with Saxony’s roofing trade and follows the guidelines of the Central Association of the German Roofing Trade (ZVDH).

The solar modules possess a high power density of up to 138 Watt per square metre. Solarwatt delivers the new in-roof system also as complete packages including all necessary elements, inverters and cable. The packages are available in three sizes – 3kW, 5kW and 10kW, which equal twelve, twenty and forty modules.

“Our new in-roof system Solarwatt Easy-In is not only interesting for new buildings and roof restorations within Germany,” said Michael Neumann, Sales Engineer and Product Manager for Easy-In. “We are also aiming for other large solar markets like Italy and France, because these countries specifically promote them.”

Starting this month (May 2011) Easy-In will be available installation-ready in two packages, including a basic package including Easy-In system, cable, plug-in connector as well as an SMA inverter and a premium package, which contains above-mentioned monitoring- and energy management system as well as the Solarwatt complete insurance coverage.
