Soltech, Belgium’s oldest building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) manufacturer, and Ecotemis, the French designer of customisable solar architectural solutions, are joining forces to develop and market a new range of products. The contract will see the companies work towards creating glazing products with both the aesthetic and design characteristics to cater for the demands of both the architectural and design communities.
“Ecotemis provides architects and project developers with solutions that give personality and character to energy,” Ecotemis founder and president Thierry Bodiot said. “Our leading-edge capabilities to create high-quality and beautiful solar architectural products are a natural fit with Soltech’s established record in the development of innovative technologies. Soltech and Ecotemis will work together to offer innovative, unique and cutting edge concepts for premium eco-buildings, luxury outdoor living furniture, semi-transparent facades, and sun-shading as well as elegant urban furniture.”
“The continuous quest for innovation, and the technical expertise of Soltech, especially in the production of its range of photovoltaic glasses ‘Sol Sky’, makes Ecotemis a natural and complementary partner who brings forth their expertise in design and marketing of Ecotemis solar solutions. This new partnership opens up the architecture of tomorrow; an architecture integrating interactive, dynamic and intelligent materials,” Soltech CEO Philippe Bourguignon added.
