Kyocera modules power BIPV system on Pacific Island

Kyocera modules will power a new 226.8kW building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) system on the Pacific Island of Palau.

The system, installed on top of a shading structure in the car park of Palau’s international airport, is the largest solar installation on the island and the first to be grid connected. The 1,080 Kyocera 210W modules will generate around 250MWh of electricity per annum.

Kyocera worked alongside Wakachiku Construction on the design and installation of the project, with financial backing coming from the Japanese government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) programme.
