The Passivhaus-Baytna sustainable housing project which is being developed by Barwa in Qatar will be equipped with 136 modules provided by Qatar Solar Technologies (QSTec). 

Masdar and Fraunhofer Gesellschaft are joining forces to build a façade test centre in Masdar City, United Arab Emirates. Fraunhofer’s Institute for Building Physics IBP and Fraunhofer ISE will supply planning and supervision services for the test centre.

The first building to be fully operational in Masdar City has been fully inaugurated at the Abu Dhabi-based site, which is dedicated to the research and development of renewable energy and sustainable technology. The ‘Masdar Institute campus’ was opened under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. Lord Foster was also present.
