Scheuten provides BIPV-modules for Madrid skyscraper

Scheuten Solar has supplied the BIPV-modules for a new high-rise building in Madrid, Spain. The 378 custom-made monocrystalline panels have a power generation capacity of 60kWp and have been integrated into the façade of Spanish department store El Corte Inglés’ new 103-metre high shopping and office complex.

Scheuten closely cooperated with the skyscrapers’ architects and builders on the design of the modules, which were mounted into a metal frame to aid building aesthetics. “I am very proud that the BIPV team of Scheuten Solar has been involved in such an iconic building project in the heart of Madrid. It perfectly demonstrates how Scheuten combines glass and solar,” said Marcel Budding, Scheuten’s BIPV sales and marketing manager.
