Daniel Fraile Montoro is a telecommunication engineer. Daniel graduated at European University of Madrid with a masters degree in Renewable Energies, specialized in photovoltaics. He has been working for the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) as a scientific officer since 2007 where he provides advice to the policy department and coordinates various international projects, including those from the European Commission and the International Energy Agency (IEA PVPS). Before joining EPIA, he worked for Spanish electric utility Iberdrola at their office in Brussels, where he gained experience in European policies and international relationships. Daniel has gained most of his experience in BIPV since 2007, when he started the coordination of the European Project Sunrise. The Sunrise project aims at promoting Building integrated Photovoltaics among the construction sector, including architects, contractors and installers. As well as his participation in this project, Daniel is also involved in projects like IP Performance which works on standardization issues of PV as a building component and the Qualicert project which concentrates on the promotion of certification schemes for PV installers.
